JOB TITLE:  YOUTH TEAM LEADER CANDIDATE

DURATION – MINIMUM OF ONE WEEK TRIAL PERIOD

DEPARTMENT:  HOUSING/ADMINISTRATION

PAY:  $10.00 per hour

CLOSES:  OPEN – CONTINUOUS

 

MUST BE AN ENROLLED NATIVE AMERICAN TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION

  

Summary:  Performs routine labor on tribal property and buildings, grounds, and minor building construction and repairs, keeping all tribal property clean, healthy and safe. The purpose of this position is to evaluate skills and abilities in work ethic and leadership capabilities for a lead worker role in the Sauk-Suiattle Indian Tribes Summer Youth Program. The selected candidates will be team leaders with added responsibilities. Number of candidates selected will depend on funding.

 

MUST BE AT LEASE 18 YEARS OLD

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

·        Performs repairs on tribal building, interior and exterior.

·        Maintains Tribal common grounds by mowing, raking, seeding, fertilizing, trimming, and weeding lawns.

·        Assists with special projects and events for the Tribe.

·        Performs basic minor repairs to tribal housing and administration buildings as needed.

·        Pick up, delivery and disposal of specific items as directed by the Director of Housing/General Manager.

·        Disposal of unwanted debris.

·        Maintains confidentiality.

·        Other duties as assigned.

   

Supervisory Responsibilities

 

This job will lead into a supervisory role for the selected candidates.

 Education and/or Experience                                             

 

·        High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. 

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

 

Valid  Washington State Driver’s License, First Aid, CPR, and Blood Pathogen training.

Training will be provided by Sauk-Suiattle Indian Tribe prior to candidate selection.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk or hear.  The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
