The information provided below can be used to determine the current conditions of the rivers and what actions the Tribe takes before conditions reach levels that pose a threat.

The solid blue line shows recent flow levels, while the dotted red line shows the National Weather Service’s flow forecast for the Sauk River. If flows reach 30 kcfs (the number on the right side of the graph), SSIT’s flood watch begins. This would not mean the Sauk is flooding. The 30 kcfs level is simply when the Tribe starts monitoring the slough on the Reservation hourly for signs of erosion, in case the main river channel tries to divert into the slough.
